Founded in 1975, the London Museum of Water & Steam is one of London’s most significant Victorian visitor attractions. The museum gives guests the opportunity to learn more about London’s water supply, view stationary water pumping engines and explore the Grade I and II listed buildings that house the museum. It has a range of hands on experiences for you to enjoy, along with a special Splash Zone designed specifically for children. On selected dates, you can also hop on the narrow-gauge railway where you can see a fantastic collection of stationary engines and take in the local surroundings.
Recognised as one of London’s largest community farms, Hounslow Urban Farm has a large selection of domestic and exotic animals, including pigs, rabbits, ducks, alpacas, peacocks, and snakes. Covering 29 acres, the farm offers an opportunity for close interaction with a variety of animals, with visitors able to enjoy daily activities such as owl-flying displays and animal handling sessions. The farm also has a souvenir shop on site and a cafe which serves a range of food and beverages.
Recognised for its great historical importance, Hounslow Heath is a local nature reserve and is the last remnant of the vast heath that once covered the area. Dating back to the Norman times, Hounslow Heath has been used for a variety of purposes, including Royal hunting grounds, Military camps and even the hideout of highwaymen and women. Today, Hounslow Heath is a popular nature conservation and recreation area, perfect for bird watching and spotting wildlife and when you’re in the mood to enjoy the great outdoors.
